ADOPTION INFORMATION

All animals are current on shots and spay/neutered before they are put up for adoption. All animals have their Rabies shots prior to adoption. All animals have collars and ID tags, Rabies tags on their collars Cats are tested negative for Aids/Leukemia unless otherwise noted Dogs are tested negative for Heartworms if over the age of 6 months. All dogs are on Heartworm preventative (Heartguard Plus) All animals have been de-fleaed with Revolution or Advantage and flea baths. All animals have had their ears cleaned.

We do not adopt outside of the DFW area.

We do not have a shelter so to adopt from online this is the way it works. Check our calendar to see when or where we are holding an Adopt-A-Pet .

If submitting online go to our pre-adopt form and complete the form fully or it will not be considered.

The form then goes directly to the adoption committee. This check could take a few hours or it could take a few days, depending on volunteers work schedule and the time form is submitted. Be sure you have put the Veterinarians phone number in the appropriate space. The Vet reference cannot be checked during non operating hours of clinic.

As soon as the committee gives us the decision you are contacted to meet us at a Petsmart or Petco. This will be coordinated at time of call to you. This will take place only during the hours of operation at each site.

Some of our Treasured Friends dogs and cats are in high demand for adoption and will quickly find a loving home. These animals have a higher adoption fee, and they leave a financial legacy for the special needs animals in our care who may need extensive medical care or more time to find a loving home.

Cat adoption fees range from $65 for one cat to $100 for two cats. The adoption fee for each animal varies and is dependent on many factors including: age, size, behavior, and medical condition.

Dog adoption fees range from $150 to $300 plus. The adoption fee for each animal varies and is dependent on many factors including: age, size, behavior, and medical condition.

Please do not ask us to lower the adoption fee as the this fee does not come close to covering our expenses for each animal. We do not get government funding. We operate solely on your donations. We do not get Veterinarian services donated. If you cannot pay the adoption fee then you will probably not be able to take care of this companion in a responsible way.

Donation Fee must be check or cash. We do not accept any charge cards.

Treasured Friends is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit, all-volunteer, no-kill animal rescue organization founded in 1999 in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
